About 247 Labs
247 Labs is a technology company building innovative digital products and solutions. We are focused on developing reliable, scalable, and user-friendly technology through strong engineering practices, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mid-Level QA Engineer to ensure the quality, functionality, and reliability of our software products.
In this role, you will design and execute test cases, identify and track defects, perform manual and automated testing, and collaborate closely with developers and product managers throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision, plan test coverage based on risk, and help ensure that products meet functional requirements and quality standards before release.
Key Responsibilities
-
Write, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
-
Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and API testing.
-
Identify, document, track, and retest defects, providing clear reproduction steps, severity levels, and supporting evidence.
-
Develop, maintain, and improve automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.
-
Test APIs using Postman or similar tools to validate endpoints, responses, and error handling.
-
Use SQL queries to validate data accuracy, consistency, and expected database behaviour.
-
Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and resolve ambiguities before testing.
-
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other relevant Agile ceremonies.
-
Plan test coverage, prioritise testing activities based on risk, and identify critical areas requiring additional validation.
-
Maintain clear documentation of test cases, test results, defects, and testing progress.
-
Work independently to manage assigned testing activities and meet agreed timelines.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, testing standards, and product quality.
Requirements
-
3–4 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
-
Practical experience with both manual testing and test automation.
-
Experience using automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
-
Experience testing APIs using Postman or similar tools.
-
Working knowledge of SQL for database validation and data verification.
-
Strong understanding of functional, regression, smoke, integration, and API testing.
-
Experience writing test cases from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
-
Ability to document defects clearly, including reproduction steps, severity, and expected versus actual results.
-
Understanding of Agile software development processes and participation in sprint ceremonies.
-
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and plan test coverage based on risk.
-
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
-
Good communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means consistently identifying defects before release, maintaining effective test coverage, improving the reliability of software products, and helping the engineering team deliver quality features on schedule.
The successful candidate will demonstrate independent ownership of testing activities, effective risk-based prioritisation, clear defect reporting, and a proactive approach to preventing recurring quality issues.
What We Offer
-
The opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative technology products.
-
Collaboration with a cross-functional engineering team.
-
Opportunities to improve testing processes and expand technical skills.
-
A work environment that values quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
